One of the projects of entrepreneur Andreas Macherey from the vicinity of Trier is to brew Goldnugget beer! To do this, he buys an old brewery in Naurath (Eifel), which has been abandoned for several years. His idea: to integrate a very special gold nugget, which he and Mat found in Australia, into the brewing process. He is assisted in this by master brewer Markus Lotz. As for the brew, Markus Lotz relies 100% on BESTMALZ. Without further ado, he personally picks up the malt for the first brew at the Wallertheim malthouse. “When choosing the malt supplier, regional proximity played a role, but also the good experience in terms of quality and service,” explains the brewmaster.
And just how good has it turned out, the Goldnugget beer? “A beautiful golden color” – “Very good foam stability” – “Fine bubbly carbonation” – “A balanced malty taste” are some of the reactions from the BESTMALZ team.
